4-5 Orleans Very Little Players Sept 18 2014–Dec 8, 2014 Saturday 11:45-12:30 The Very Little Players class will explore movement, rhythm and creative drama in this class, with a presentation at their Open House at the end of each term. Class size is limited. This class is 9-10 weeks in duration.
6-8 Orleans Little Players Sept 15, 2014-June 13, 2015 Tuesday 6:15–7:15 OR Friday 6:15–7:15 OR Saturday 10:30-11:30 Students will enjoy and experience theatre through imaginative play, simple characterization, mime and story-telling. There will be an Open House performance at the end of the first term, and a stage play in the Spring Student Works Showcase. Class size is limited.
4-12 Homeschooler’s Drama Sept 23, 2014-Nov 25, 2014 / March 24 – May 26, 2015 Tuesday 2:00-3:30 Students will enjoy and experience theatre through imaginative play, simple characterization, mime and story-telling in a 90 minute class leading to an in-studio performance.
8-9 ACT I Sept 15, 2014-June 13, 2015 Thursday, 6-7:15 OR Friday, 6:00-7:15 OR Saturday, 2:15-3:30 This 75-minute class explores movement, voice, mask work, characterization and some script work. This exploration of theatre will lead to a performance in the Spring Student Works Showcase. Class size is limited.
10-11 ACT II Sept 15, 2014-June 13, 2015 Monday, 4:30-5:45 OR Friday, 4:30-5:45 OR Saturday, 12:45-2:00 Explores in greater depth: movement, voice, mask work, characterization, and script work. This exploration of theatre will lead to a performance at the Spring Student Works Showcase. Class size is limited.
6-8 Young Musical Sept 15, 2014-June 13, 2015 Saturday, 9:00-10:15 Students work together for three-terms to explore the world of acting and singing. Enthusiasm, commitment and team spirit are necessary to participate in this class. This exploration of theatre will lead to a performance in the Spring Student Works Showcase. Class size is limited.
8-10 Junior Musical Sept 15, 2014-June 13, 2015 Saturday, 9:00-10:30 Students work together for three-terms to explore the world of acting and singing. 9-12 Junior Shakespeare Sept 15, 2014-June 13, 2015 Monday, 6:00-7:15 Together, the class will explore the works of William Shakespeare. Child-appropriate chunks of the Bard’s works will lay a foundation for reading or performing his original works in high school. These students will enter Shakespeare’s world, ‘see’ the settings, ‘hear’ the characters speak, and feel their emotions and together with their teacher create an exciting performance piece! The audience will enjoy their stage production in the OYP Spring Student Works Showcase. Class size is limited.
9-13 Junior/Intermediate Musical Sept 15, 2014-June 13, 2015  Friday 4:30-6:00 Students will work together for three-terms to explore the world of acting and singing. Enthusiasm, commitment and team spirit are necessary to participate in this class. This exploration of musical theatre will lead to a performance in the 2015 Spring Student Works Showcase. Class size is limited.

Students will work on voice and movement with a guest instructor. Enthusiasm, commitment and team spirit are necessary to participate in this 2-hour class. The audience will enjoy their stage production in the OYP Spring Student Works Showcase. Class size is limited.
11-13 Intermediate Improv Sept 15, 2014-June 13, 2015 Thursday 7:30-9:00 Improvisation is fun, and vital to theatre study, it is interactive with audience participation! Play creation without a playwright! Think fast! On your feet! Gain and instill confidence! Collective developed performance for the 2015 OYP Theatre School Spring Student Showcase. Class size is limited.
12-13 ACT III Sept 15, 2014-June 13, 2015 Monday 6:00-7:15 OR Thursday 4:30-5:45 OR Friday 7:30-8:45 Includes the more advanced study of improvisation and monologues. Students will further develop movement, voice, blocking, script work and other stage business, and will design their own costumes, set and props, and program cover. The audience will enjoy their stage production in the OYP Spring Student Works Showcase. Class size is limited.
12+ On-Camera: Beginner Level Sept 15, 2014-June 13, 2015 Wednesday 4:30-6:00 This 75-minute class explores movement, voice, mask work, characterization and some script work. This exploration of theatre will lead to a performance in the Spring Student Works Showcase. Class size is limited.An introduction to acting for the camera. Students will learn and practice the basics of filmmaking and acting. This class provides students with an opportunity for artistic expression. Students together with their teacher will create, film and learn about editing their own work. Students may visit other OYPTS classes to tape and create an OYPTS commercial for social media and the OYPTS website. The audience will enjoy their stage production in the OYP Spring Student Works Showcase. Class size is limited.
13+ On-Camera: Youth Advanced Sept 15, 2014-June 13, 2015 Wednesday 6:15-7:45 pm A more advanced approach to acting for the stage vs. acting for film. Students will learn and practice the fundamentals of filmmaking and acting. This class provides students with an opportunity for artistic expression. Students together with their teacher will create, film and edit their own work. Students may visit other OYPTS classes to tape and create an OYPTS commercial for social media and the OYPTS website. The audience will enjoy their stage production in the OYP Spring Student Works Showcase. Class size is limited.
13+ Improv / Comedy Sept 15, 2014-June 13, 2015 Thursday 4:30-5:45 Comedic ACTing and performance skills using physical theatre techniques such as Sketch, Stand-up, Commedia, Clown, and Bouffon. 13+ Radio Play Sept 15, 2014-June 13, 2015 Monday, 4:30-5:45 pm Students will explore and develop voice and sound techniques. Radio drama is usually a purely acoustic performance, broadcast on radio or published on audio media. Generally with no visual component, radio drama depends on dialogue, music and sound effects to help the listener imagine the characters and story. It is auditory in the physical dimension but equally powerful as a visual force in the psychological dimension; the OYPTS performance will incorporate the students’ recorded radio work and a live theatre performance on stage! Exciting!! The audience will enjoy their stage production in the OYP Spring Student Works Showcase. Class size is limited.
14+ Senior Shakespeare Sept 15, 2014-June 13, 2015 Thursday, 6:00-7:15 pm Explore the works of Shakespeare using energetic and unique techniques. With an emphasis on play, physicality, character and emotion, be prepared to shake up your Shakespeare! The plays of Shakespeare are too often taught in the classroom as difficult and obscure sacred texts. The aim of this course is to remind students that Shakespeare was not only a great poet but also a great dramatist, and to show students that his plays make for exciting and dynamic theatre. The audience will enjoy their stage production in the OYP Spring Student Works Showcase.Class size is limited.
14+ Teen Creation and Intro to Directing and Design Sept 15, 2014-June 13, 2015 Thursday, 7:30-9:00 pm Students will collectively create their own show and learn about scripts, casting, rehearsing, design, stage management, promoting your show and design. This class will involve acting for a performance in the OYP Student Spring Showcase. Class size is limited.
14+ Show Biz – Senior Musical Sept 15, 2014-June 13, 2015 Tuesday, 7:30-9:30 pm Students work together to explore the world of acting and singing. Previous experience, enthusiasm, commitment and team spirit are necessary to participate in this class. The ability to play an instrument is an EXTRA bonus! In this exploration of theatre, acting, and music students will get to work with guest experts on voice and movement. The audience will enjoy their stage production in the OYP Spring Student Works Showcase. Class size is limited. *Audition and previous experience required. 14+  Senior Children’s Theatre Tour to Young Audiences Sept 15, 2014-June 13, 2015 Tuesday, 4:30-6:00 pm Explore aspects of touring: putting up/striking sets, caring for props and costumes, dealing with challenges of varying performance spaces. The class will tour up to five venues and will require students to miss 2-3 days of school. This exploration of theatre and acting will lead to from one to four performances at Ottawa primary schools as well as a performance in the OYP Spring Student Works. Class size is limited

On-Camera Adult Class
An exploration of acting for film. Adult students will learn and practice the fundamentals of filmmaking and acting. This class provides students with an exciting and unique opportunity for artistic expression. Students together with their teacher will create a short film. Depending on student availability – Students may visit other venues to film footage for the final product. The audience will enjoy their production in the Shenkman Arts Centre’s Richcraft Theatre. Class size is limited.

OYPTS One Term Intensive “Own It” workshops: Watch for one term Own It’s in: Voice / Character Development / Mask / Puppet Play / Clown / Costume Design / Set Design /Stage Combat /Special Make-up Intensive / Yoga for Actors / and Stage Management. Theatre professionals will work intensively with OYPTS students to hone and own their theatre skills.
Weekend/One day Intensive: “SNAP! Weekend Workshops”
These non-performance intensives will be spontaneous; as specialized artists/teachers become available-OYPTS will be there to snap them up! Weekend Intensives: mask work / puppet play / audition / character and text /if time is your enemy these shorter intensives will work for you.
