Vanessa Johnson got her first taste of theatre in grade 7, playing Colonel Walker in an elementary school production of “Tommy”, and has loved acting ever since.
She was a student at OYP for 4 years, during which time she took part in 6 shows. She loved the variety of experiences she had at OYP, including: performing at the Tulip Festival, being in a travelling school show, performing in a musical, and taking on technical roles during the 8th season of ENCORE!.
Vanessa received her Bachelor of Education in the Primary/Junior division from the University of Western Ontario in 2009. She now teaches grade 7 and 8 Core French at Avalon Elementary School, and grade 1 Physical Education at Fallingbrook Elementary School. When not teaching, Vanessa coaches and skates for Ottawa Roller Derby.
