Partnership & Endowment Fund

OYP Theatre School was a key part of a lobby effort for the construction of a state-of-the-art Arts Centre in Orleans. In June 2007, ground was broken for the Shenkman Arts Centre. An 86,000 square foot facility with a 500-seat performing arts hall, a 100-seat black box theatre, an art gallery, theatre studios, rehearsal studios and office space.

As a resident partner in the Shenkman Arts Centre, OYP Theatre School is one of five organizations in a partnership that will nurture and develop the arts in Ottawa-Orleans. The ARTicipate! Endowment Fund Campaign, spearheaded by Arts Ottawa East, has been set up to ensure a sustainable future for arts and culture in our community. It will drive high-quality programming and help to stimulate the arts economy in Ottawa. The fund will support the residents of the Shenkman Arts Centre as well as initiatives by local artists and arts organizations that will take place in the Centre.
