James Reaney is widely regarded as one of Canada’s finest authors, a writer who is comfortable with a wide variety of literary forms. Poet, playwright, novelist, storyteller, and even visual artist; James Reaney was born outside of Stratford, Ontario in 1926. He has been the recipient of a number of honourary doctorates and The Order of Canada. He is a member of the Royal Society of Canada and has won three Governor General awards. All classes worked on a play written by or inspired by Reaney to help students and families gain an appreciation of Reaney’s vast body of work and to bring his unique contribution to Canada’s cultural heritage to a wider audience.
